Friendiversary Mittens

I'm celebrating a ten year friendiversary with a wonderful friend who lives far away (and up North) who doesn't know I will be sending her these mittens soon. I am currently ripping the thumb apart on these for the third time trying to make them perfect. I'm worried they may be too small (but only a little, her daughter can wear them if that's the case). I want them to be perfect, they won't be, but the message will be the same.

I've been enjoying celebrating freindiversaries. I love my family, but there is something really amazing about choosing an extended family to love and support. She is far away and at a different stage in life, but every time we chat her positivity, intelligence and loving nature are a refreshment to my soul. We met ten years ago at the start of my PhD and have both had a lot happen in our lives for those ten years.

I'm hoping the mitts keep her warm, and remind her that even though we are miles apart I think of her and her family often. People with genuinely beautiful souls are few and far between, a pair of mittens isn't enough to honour how great it is to have people like that in your life, but I hope she will see them and know that she is loved.
